GUIDELINES FOR THE CELEBRATION OF CIVIL WEDDINGS

Subject and objective
The present guidelines regulate the procedures for the celebration of civil weddings as legalized by the provisions from art. 106 to art. 116 of the civil code.

Place of the celebration
Civil weddings are publicly celebrated in prearranged halls and in parts of “Scaligero Castle Museum” or, alternatively, at the Mayor’s Office in the municipal offices. The organization of art exhibitions or shows in the halls previously booked for the celebration of civil weddings will not represent an obstacle to the execution of the ceremony.

Time of the celebration
Civil weddings are ordinarily celebrated during the office hours of the Civil Status Office (from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm). Celebrations requested at different times, which are nonetheless working days for residents, are subject to the availability of municipal administration workers and to payment of the appropriate fee.

Fees
The wedding celebration fees are determined by the Town Council. In the determination of the fees, the following may be considered for reimbursement: - the cost of the staff needed to undertake the service; - the cost of the services offered for the celebration of the wedding (preparation halls, management costs, heating, cleaning, etc...).

Organization of the service
The municipal office in charge of organizing the wedding celebrations is the Civil Status Office.
Applicants may only visit the halls and places intended for the celebration of civil weddings subject to an appointment.
The booking of halls for the celebration of weddings can be made upon presentation of the set documentation, no later than six months before the planned celebration date.
The foreseen fee must be paid at the same time as the booking.
The maximum limit of one celebration per day is fixed for weddings of non-residents.
In coordination with the other municipal offices, the Civil Status Office will give the necessary instructions to ensure that the requested services are regularly provided.
If the requested services are not provided, either wholly or in part, for reasons attributable to the Town Council, or as a result of adverse weather conditions, any amounts paid will be completely or partially returned.
No reimbursements will be made in the event of any failure to provide the services requested being attributable to the applicant parties.
